Open Our Eyes

Open Our Eyes
Brother Himie Pickett

A good friend encouraged me today by telling me that despite what I see as challenges in my life, I don’t see everything. That word encouraged me, and I pray that it will encourage you. My friend, you have not seen everything anything yet.

Let’s examine the Scriptures:

2nd Kings 6:16-17 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

The prophet Elisha and his servant we surrounded by the Syrian army. In the natural they were in an inextricable (unescapable) situation. However, Elisha knew by faith that in the natural realm they were out numbered, but in the Spirit realm their enemy was out numbered by a heavenly host. My friend, I pray that your eyes will be opened to see your heavenly hosts assigned to you.

Notice, the text says that the mountains were full of horses and chariots full of fire. The horses represent strength, the chariots represent the place for the chariot’s driver, and the fire represents Ruach Hakodesh (The Holy Spirit).

Let’s make this contemporary:

1. The Syrian army is your challenges
2. Elisha and his servant are you and your family
3. The mountains are the places around you
4. The horses and chariots are the provisions Ruach Hakodesh has for you
5. The fire is Ruach Hakodesh who is prepared to attack your enemies

Lord, I pray that you will open our eyes for us to see the breakthroughs, healings, and miracles that you have for us.

2nd Corinthians 5:7….for we walk by faith, not by sight.
