Don’t Be Deceived
There are a myriad of things in this life that I do not want: sickness, homelessness, poverty, and more. However, the thing that I want least is to be deceived by Satan. I do an introspection daily to see if I am being deceived.
The word deceived is defined as: verb
– : to make (someone) believe something that is not true
The Word of YHWH admonishes us not to be deceived:
Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
If one is deceived he or she will have to reap the consequences for being deceived. The consequences of deception is death (Romans 6:23).
The saddest thing about deception is that the person being deceived doesn’t even know that he or she is deceived. Satan will paint a picture that will make even a believer to believe a lie. Ask Adam and Eve!!!!
Romans 1:21-26 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Yeshua spoke of the deceived:
Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’.
Notice, these deceived won’t realize they are deceived until Judgement day. They will be confident of salvation; however, they will be told to depart from Him.
My friend, the way not to be deceived is to stay in the Word and prayer.
